Michelle Jeanette Mikula, beloved by all who knew her, passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on December 7, 2024.
Born on May 21, 1941, in Detroit, MI, she was the cherished daughter of Roy Oliver Miller and Josephine Barbara (Kolinski) Miller. Her loving husband of 57
years, Thomas Mikula, preceded her in death.
Michelle leaves behind a legacy in her sons, Christopher (Tobey), Michael (Kathleen), Gary (Cynthia), and Terry (Melanie) Mikula as well as her 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. All will remember her gentleness and smile.
Caring for others was Michelle’s vocation. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Frances College, she worked for 17 years at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City, IN. She finished her career as the head of nursing for the Intensive Care Unit.
Michelle and Tom spent many happy years raising their boys in Three Oaks, MI, where they were active in St Mary’s parish, and cheered at countless sporting events. As retirees, they moved to Centreville, MI, where they thoroughly enjoyed sharing their lakefront home with friends and family. They were welcomed into Immaculate Conception parish, and found community at St. Clare mission church.
Michelle was a woman of great faith, her kept her Rosary at her side, she kept all those she loved in her prayers. She will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date in 2025. Donations in Michelle’s memory may be made online to the Christ Child Society of South Bend, at: christchildsb.org.
