Norma J. Johnson

Norma J. Johnson, 91, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at home.

            Norma was born on April 12, 1933, in LaPorte, IN to Raymond and Viola (Cook) Meinke. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Joyce Capron and son-in-law, Michael Helenburg.

            On April 18, 1953, in LaPorte she married Darrell Jay Johnson; he preceded her in death on November 1, 1999.

            Surviving are her children, Denise Helenburg, Galen B. (Karen) Johnson and Paul A (Paulette) Johnson; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and brother, Raymond C Meinke.

            Norma was a member of Eastside United Methodist Church and past president of Avalon Grotto Auxiliary. She worked for Studebakers until they closed.

            Visitation will be on Monday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with services at 12 noon, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
