Raymond Guzman, a cherished pillar of his community and beloved family patriarch, passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on November 18, 2024, in South Bend, Indiana. Raymond was born on July 27, 1938, in the small community of Huntley, Wyoming, to Parents Nabor and Maria (Paramo) Guzman. Raymond led a life marked by dedication to his country, his family, and his entrepreneurial spirit.
A proud United States Marine, Raymond served his country with honor and distinction. After his military service, he channeled his discipline and work ethic into founding and growing his own successful business, ABC Plumbing and Heating.
Raymond was a devoted husband to his late wife, Elizabeth (Mnichowski) Irby Guzman, and a guiding light to his children, Mary (Jeffrey) Desits, St. Louis, MO, Paul Guzman, South Bend, IN, Ervin (Susan) Guzman, Birmingham, AL and Christopher (Gayle) Johnson, Jacksonville, FL., son and daughter of his heart, Guillermo Camoriano and Janilla Lee. His legacy is carried on by his loving grandchildren, Patricia, Natalie (Willie) Dillingham, Tyler (Britnee) Desits, Allison (Ferdous) Rahman, Gabrielle (Jordan) Strandell, and Elizabeth Desits (Grant Hulsey). His great-grandchildren, Nolan, Wyatt Dillingham, Wyatt Desits, Joyce Desits, and Adam Rahman brought joyful chapters to his later years.
Though predeceased by siblings, Helen Medina, Manuela Tugman, Joe, Stanley, and Jake, Guzman, Raymond's memory lives on through his brother, Frank Guzman and sister, Liz McCarthy. His light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him, a true testament to a life well-lived and a man greatly missed.
Visitation will take place on Friday November 22, 2024, from 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:30 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawka. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, 226 N Hill St, South Bend. A private burial will take place at a later date.
