Patricia Jean Barton

     Patricia Barton, aged 90, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023, in South Bend, Indiana, surrounded by the love of her cherished family. Born in Mishawaka, Indiana, on March 18, 1935, Patricia's life was a vivid tapestry of love, dedication, and service.

     Patricia's love story with Richard Barton was a cornerstone of her life, beginning when they were just kids at Main Junior High School. Their bond grew stronger through the years, leading to their marriage on April 23, 1955. This partnership, which spanned nearly 70 years, was built on mutual respect, deep affection, and a shared commitment to family and community. Richard, her steadfast partner, was a constant source of support, and together, they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its joys. Whether they were raising their three children, Bradley, Paula, and Kenneth, or enjoying quiet moments together in their later years, their love never wavered.

     Patricia is survived by her loving husband Richard, her children Bradley (Dawn) Barton, Aurora, Co, Paula (Randy) Lester, Kenneth Barton, of Mishawaka, and her oldest daughter, Julia Nowak, who had been placed for adoption and was later reunited thanks to ancestry testing. She is also survived by her adoring grandchildren, Brian (Karie) Barton, Lesley (Ryan) Summers, and Jonathan (Shailin) Slack, and her great-grandchildren, Gemma and Wyatt Summers, and Phoenix and Jade Slack.

     Patricia was a respected service representative at Indiana Bell Telephone for 26 years, where her warmth and efficiency brightened the lives of countless individuals.

     In keeping with Patricia’s wishes there will be no formal services held at this time. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted to handle all the final arrangements.
