Penny Dewey

     Penny Sue Dewey, born on June 21, 1964, in South Bend, IN, passed away on December 11, 2024, in Elkhart, IN. Penny was the beloved daughter of Frank Johnson and Rita (Littlejohn) Johnson, and cherished wife of Gregg Dewey, whom she married on October 23, 1999.

     Penny was a devoted mother to her sons Kevin (Michelle), Brian, Gary (Jessica), and Eric Niswonger, and a loving grandmother to Dakota, Emma, Alex, Liam, Dylan, and Parker, as well as a proud great-grandmother to Athena.

     After completing her nursing degree, Penny dedicated her life to caring for others at St. Joseph Hospital. A vibrant part of her community, her warmth and compassion touched the lives of many. Aside from her dedication to her professional life, Penny found joy in flea markets and the loving company of her dogs.

     Penny's presence will be keenly missed, yet her legacy of kindness and nurturing spirit will forever be cherished by her family and all those lucky enough to have known her.

     As per Penny’s wishes a private family service will be held, with a Burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Hahn Funeral home has been entrusted with making all the final arrangements.
