Rachel L Stewart

            Rachel L. Stewart, 98, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, in St. Paul’s Memory Care Unit in South Bend, IN. She was born on August 26, 1925, in Twelve Mile, IN, to Russell and Goldie (Wiles) Coffing. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jeffery Young, sisters, June Garrow and Betty Lewis, brothers, Richard Coffing, Dewey Coffing, Donald Coffing and William Coffing.

            On August 30, 1963, she married Kenneth E. Stewart. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2018. Surviving are 2 sisters, Nina Lynch, and Joan Coffing; as well as many nieces and nephews.

            A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 12 pm (noon), at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with a burial to follow at Chapel Hill.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East United Methodist Church, 1621 E. Third St., Mishawaka, IN 46544 and St. Margaret’s house, 117 N Lafayette Blvd, South Bend, IN 46601.
