Randel Turley Sr. Obituary

Randel Lee Turley Sr. ("Randy"), 62, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at his home in Mishawaka, Indiana, on February 2, 2025. Born on December 5, 1962, in South Bend, Indiana, at Memorial Hospital, Randy was the beloved son of Lafayette Turley Jr. and Diana Turley. He was preceded in death by his father in 2023.

Randy is survived by his mother, Diana Turley; his siblings, Terri Smith, Jim Turley, and  Debra Petersen; his three children, Brittney Turley, Randel Lee Turley Jr., and Evelyn Turley; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Mishawaka High School’s class of 1981, Randy began his career at Colormetric, where he worked for nine years. During this time, he and his former spouse of nine years, Gloria Nickerson, welcomed two children. In 1990, Randy survived a life-altering accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury. Despite this challenge, he went on to embrace life fully and later welcomed another daughter with his former spouse of 28 years, Laura Amberg.

Randy was known for his kindness and generosity. Always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need, he brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. A lifelong fan of Notre Dame football, Randy proudly served as an usher for 31 years. His love of classic rock music led him to attend countless concerts by legendary bands such as Aerosmith, the Rolling Stones, and Rush—his personal favorite. Whether relaxing by a lake or enjoying time with friends at a local bar, Randy never met a stranger, he seemingly always knew someone everywhere he went, even halfway across the country while on vacation, he would always know someone, somewhere

Randy's legacy is one of smiles, laughter, and countless stories from the innumerable lives he touched during his time here, his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him

"It's your story, tell it however you want" - Randy Turley
