Ray E. Davidson, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.

Ray was born on February 14, 1938, in Jasper County, IL to Charles R. and Angie (Brown) Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eva Bickers of Newton, IL; brother-in-law, Jack Bickers of Newton, IL; nephew, Morris Bicker of Newton, IL and nephew, Don Bickers of Cynthiana, IN; and grandparents, John and Effie Brown and Anise Davidson.

On December 28, 1972 in Mundelein, IL he married the former Caroline E. Lively; she preceded him in death on July 25, 2008. Surviving Ray are his daughters, Penny (David) Nye of South Bend, Cynthia (Richard) Van Bergen of South Bend, Christine (Walter) Bohlmann of Bristol, Angela (Dean) Schmidtendorff of Elkhart and Lisa (Arthur) Murray of California; He also leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a great great-grandson along with a great nephew and two great nieces.

Ray worked several years as a mechanic. In 1980 he formed his own Security and private investigation company and working from 1972 to 1980 as an investigator for Pinkerton Detective Agency in Skokie, IL. From 1982 to 2009 also moonlighted as a mechanic for South Bend Regional Airport retiring in 2009.

Ray loved fishing, hunting, golfing and auto racing, working on his lawn and spending time with his daughters and many grandchildren.

 Visitation for family and friends will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. A private burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
