Rene Van De Wielle

Rene J. Van De Wielle, a lifelong resident of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on October 13, 1956, to the late Elmer and Lorraine (Lambert) Van De Wielle, Rene grew up in a close-knit community that he cherished throughout his life. He dedicated many years of his life to Dodge Manufacturing, where he worked in the tool and die department.

Rene's memory will be treasured by his siblings, David (Sharon) Van De Wielle and Mary (Bob) Means. His presence will also be profoundly missed by his extended family members and a wide circle of friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and gentle nature.

A graveside service will be held for Rene on Thursday, November 20, 2025 , at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN at 1:00 PM. Donations in honor of Rene may be made to Ascent Hospice. Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with assisting the family with the arrangements.
