Richard DeNeve

June 21, 1946 – June 26, 2024

            Richard DeNeve, a cherished husband, father, brother, and son, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, in Mishawaka, Indiana, just under 8 months after his beloved wife, Cynthia. Born on June 21, 1946, in Elkhart, Indiana, to Maurice and Mary M. (Verbeke) DeNeve, Richard's warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.

            A proud graduate of St. Joseph High School, Richard's commitment to excellence was evident early on. His academic achievements were just the beginning of a life marked by dedication and hard work. Richard's professional life was spent as a commercial contractor at The Robert Henry Corp, where he dedicated 16 years. His colleagues respected him for his integrity and his unwavering commitment to quality craftsmanship.

            Richard's life was one of service and love. He married the love of his life, Cynthia E. (Bella) DeNeve, on November 20, 1982. He loved his one son, Todd DeNeve, with all his heart. Even after Cynthia's passing on October 31, 2023, Richard's love for her remained a guiding force in his life.

            Richard, a familiar face at the BK Club, brought vibrant energy to every Belgian Bowling match. His passion for the game was only matched by his infectious laughter and unwavering camaraderie. Richard's presence at the club was a testament to his love for community and joy in simple pleasures. His friends remember him not just for his skill on the bowling lane but for the warmth he brought to every gathering.

            Richard is survived by his son Todd DeNeve, two grandchildren Paige and Camryn DeNeve, and two sisters Maryemma Vandendrissche and Carol Borowski.

            Richard's legacy is one of kindness, reliability, and a deep-seated love for his family. His presence was a source of stability and strength, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.

            A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the B-K Club, 721 S West St, Mishawaka.
