Richard LeMere

Richard “Lefty” LeMere Sr, 92, passed away the afternoon of Saturday, April 6, 2024. He was born December 13, 1931, in Mishawaka to the late Lloyd LeMere and Helen “Genieva” (Wachs) LeMere. On August 21,1954, Richard married Janet M. (Kindig) LeMere, in Mishawaka, Indiana, who preceded him in death.

            Richard is survived by his daughter, Patricia Morris, his sons, Richard (Bobbie) LeMere Jr., and Curt (Janis) LeMere, his sisters, Lucille Hixenbaugh, Shirley Wade, and his twin brother, Robert LeMere; grandchildren, Jennifer Rutledge, Heidi Pollard (Matthew), and Jeremy Morris, Todd (Bettina), Timothy and Irina LeMere, and Kendall LeMere; great grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Rutledge, Connor and Carson Pollard and Vayda and Lennox LeMere, Callista LeMere. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

            Richard was also preceded in death by, his parents, Lloyd and Helen “Genieva” LeMere, his daughter, Pam LeMere, his sister, Juanita Delaruelle, and his brother, Jim LeMere.

            Lefty was a lifetime fan of the Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame, where he ushered for several years. He retired from Selmer (Vincent Bach) and South Bend Medical Foundation. He was an avid member of the BK Club, spending countless hours with his friends that he called family. He was also a member of St. Joseph Parish.

            A visitation will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th street, Mishawaka IN, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 PM.
