Richard “Dick” A. Day, 82, of Mishawaka passed away on November 15, 2024. Dick was born on August 17, 1942, in Beaver Dam, WI, to the late Gordon L. Day Sr. and Marian (Bakeman) Searvogle. He grew up in Wisconsin before joining the U.S. Navy in 1961 where he served honorably as a 3rd Class Aviation Machinist. Dick then moved to the Michiana area in 1965 and worked for Bayer as a line tech for 20 years before retiring in 1998. On June 24, 1995, in Mishawaka, Dick married Elizabeth Koebler.
Dick is survived by his wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Koebler; children, Debbie (Rich) Jones and Becky (Brent) Ragsdale; step-children, Carolyn, Kenneth, Freddie and Kevin; many grandchildren; one great grandson; siblings, Kathy (Phil) Shank, Kim Rothfuchs, Ruth (Dick) Hesser, and Charles “Chuck” Searvogel; sister-in-law, Carol Day as well as many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Day Jr.
Dick was a member of Club 15 and enjoyed golfing with his friends. More than anything Dick loved his family.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, November 20th, 1pm-4pm, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A funeral service and military honors for Dick will follow immediately at 4pm in the funeral home.
