Richard "Rich" D. Smith

Richard “Rich” D. Smith, 80, passed away at home on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Rich was born on September 19, 1944, in South Bend to the late Arthur C. and Sophia (Ruttner) Smith. On April 9, 1967 he married Arlene F. Garber. Surviving are his wife, Arlene; daughter, Kristine (Scott) Teters; sons, Michael (Becci) Smith, Jonathon Smith, David Smith and Edward Smith; grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, McKayla, Olivia, Ashley, Miranda and Jacob; great grandchild, Caiden; sister, Karen (Dale) Hatfield; brother, Bill (Linda) Smith and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Rich drove School Bus for Penn Harris Madison school corporation, he also enjoyed working for Notre Dame with his family selling Souvenirs. Rich loved his family and for the last 57 years he has been married to the Love of his life, Arlene.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his residence, Town House East (Clubhouse) On May 31, 2025 from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
