Robert D Rogers

Robert D. Rogers, 90, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, December 28, 2021, in Mishawaka, IN surrounded by his children.  Robert was born in Friend, Nebraska, on July 9, 1931, to the late Paul and Dorothy (Cain) Rogers. 

Robert graduated from Doane College, Class of 1953.  Following graduation, he worked as an accountant while living in Nebraska, Minnesota, California and Michigan City, IN.  In 1953, Robert married Virginia Fielding who preceded him in death in 2011.  In addition to his parents and wife, Robert is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth.

Robert is survived by his children, Mark (Cathy) Rogers of Belleville, IL, Scott (Anne) Rogers of Littleton, CO and Mindy (Bob) Epley of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Sandy (Jimmy) Wiskeman, Matthew (Stephanie) Rogers, Melissa (Michael) Losasso, Lyndsay (Ben) deBock, Maggie (Abby) Rogers and Taylor Epley; great grandchildren, Jared Wiskeman, Joseh Wiskeman, Ethan Rogers, Alex Rogers, Julie Rogers, Logan Wilsin, Emitt Wilson, Josephine Losasso, and 2 more on the way.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Robert was known as a very kind man who was an avid golfer and was happiest when he was out on the golf course.  He was known as “RD” by his local golfing buddies.  He played golf all the way up to the age of 87.  He was also a member of the Rotary Club in Michigan City and enjoyed playing bridge and euchre with his Arborwood neighbors.

Visitation will be 11 am-1 pm on Friday, December 31, 2021, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
