Roger Darin Kent, 57, of Mishawaka, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. He was born on May 6, 1968, in Valparaiso, IN to the late Bruce R. and Cheryl K. (Soder) Kent.
Roger graduated from Penn High School in 1986 and later joined the United States Army. He entered the service as an Administrative Specialist and became Airborne Certified. Roger was stationed with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC, and later with I Corps at Fort Lewis, WA. During his military career, he achieved the rank of Sergeant, serving in roles such as Training Manager and Administrative Manager before leaving the service. Roger was proud to have served his country and brought the same dedication to every role he held thereafter.
Following his military service, Roger attended Pierce College in Tacoma, WA, where he earned his associate’s degree in technology in 1997. He then went on to work in a variety of fields, including as a pest control technician, a manager for a health care facility, and a FedEx Home Delivery driver.
Surviving is his son, Austin Kent; his brothers, Doug (Bridgett) Kent and Dwayne (Rachel) Kent; as well as seven nieces and nephews.
As per Roger’s wishes, there will be no formal services. Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka, has been entrusted with handling the final arrangements.
