Sally Schrader

Sally Schrader, 93, died on March 7, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Sally was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to George and Atha Fitzgerald,. She attended school in Fort Wayne and graduated from Central Catholic High School. It was there that she met the love of her life, Maurice Schrader. They were married for 58 years.

The high school sweethearts were married on August 9, 1952. In 1956, they moved to Mishawaka, the city they would call home for rest of their lives.

Sally’s greatest joy was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: James (Kristi) Schrader, Gerald (Julie) Schrader, Maureen Strange, Joseph (Linda) Schrader, Elizabeth Schrader (daughter-in-law).

She was the proud grandmother of 10: Emily, Kyle, Andrew, Abigail, Nicholas, Maxwell, Jacob, Daniel, Rebekah, and Samuel. Her light continues to shine through her 9 great-grandchildren: Hudson, Addison, Evelyn, Tatum, Tanner, Luca, Maya, Benjamin, and Brooks.

Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maurice; her son, David; and her parents, George and Atha Fitzgerald.

Sally will be remembered for her courage in the face of illness and the unwavering love she offered her family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 21st from 2-4 followed by a memorial service at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W Eighth St., Mishawaka, Indiana.
