Sophia Burks

   Sophia L. Burks, age 10, was born on October 14, 2015, to her loving parents, Jacob Burks and Sasha Poe, and  passed away on February 7, 2026.

   Sophia is survived by her parents, Jacob and Sasha, her siblings, Karson Poe and Jazmine Burks; her grandmothers, Laura Barrier and Kim Vital; and her great-grandfather, Albert Triotta. She is also survived by her uncles, Joe Poe, Cory Davis and Tyler Davis, as well as many cousins and extended family members who loved her dearly.  She was deeply loved by everyone and will be forever missed.

   Sophia was just a kid, full of life, curiosity, and joy. Like many children her age, she loved playing Roblox, making and playing with slime, and doodling whenever she could. She especially enjoyed writing her name, practicing how she wanted her signature to look, leaving her name doodled all around the house, like little reminders of her bright spirit.

   She loved riding her bike, swimming, and spending time playing with her siblings. Sophia was friends with everyone she met and had a kind, welcoming heart. She loved fruit, adored animals, and truly enjoyed going to school to be with her friends.

   Though her time here was far too short, Sophia’s laughter, kindness, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

   A Celebration of Life will take place on February 21, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, in Eastgate & Lakeside Apartments community hall, 900 Roosevelt Dr, Mishawaka.  Hahn Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements and extends a heartfelt condolence to Sophia’s family during this difficult time.
