Teresa Maria (Santeusanio) Marino

Teresa Maria Marino, 81, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday October 14, 2023, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, after an illness.

Teresa was born on August 29, 1942, in Fossacesia, Italy, as the daughter of Nicola and Nicoletta Santeusanio. They preceded her in death along with one daughter, Linda Marino.

Teresa immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in 1961, where she married Antonio Marino on August 11, 1962. They settled in South Bend where they spent sixty-one beautiful years together. Antonio survives along with their children, John (Magdalena) Marino, Nick (Lisa) Marino, and grandchildren, Daniel and Nathan Marino, and Anna, John, Ben, Julia, and Joseph Marino, along with Teresa’s one sister, Lidia Romanelli, of Woodbridge, Canada.

For many years Teresa worked for Koszegi Industries, Martin’s Supermarkets, and Macri’s Bakery before her retirement. She was a member of St Matthew Cathedral in South Bend.  Teresa had a remarkable gift for welcoming everyone into her home and at her table.  No one left Nonna’s hungry for either food or love because she filled everyone with both. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 19, from 4 pm- 8 pm in Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th Street Mishawaka, with a rosary to be prayed at 5 pm in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 20, in St Matthew Cathedral, South Bend, with Rev Andrew Budzinski officiating.  Entombment to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Granger, IN.
