Thomas L. DeClark, 83, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away on June 30, 2025. He was born on January 16, 1942, to the late George and Marjorie (Christman) DeClark. Tom attended Madison High School and then transferred to Penn High School. He was part of the first class that graduated from Penn High School in 1960.
Tom married Joan (Logli) at St. Bavo Catholic Church on September 2, 1961. They shared over 63 years together. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Joan (February 1, 2025), his daughter Marilyn Miller (April 10, 2025) and his brother Jim (Connie) DeClark.
Tom is survived by his son, John (Christine) DeClark; his son-in-law, David Miller; his grandchildren Justin DeClark and Lindsey Miller as well as many extended family members and friends.
Tom and Joan lived on their farm in Madison Township for 34 years. They eventually moved to Hoffman Lake in Warsaw, Indiana before returning to Mishawaka. During the winter months they enjoyed the warmth and friends in Okeechobee, Florida.
Tom served as a former Mishawaka police officer. He was also a lifelong farmer, and a past Madison Township 4-H Leader. Tom enjoyed driving the combine, woodworking, fishing, and playing cards.
Visitation for Tom will be held on Wednesday, July 9, from 5-7pm at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka. Friends may also visit on Thursday, July 10, from 9-9:45am at the funeral home prior to Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 10, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 220 W 4th Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka.
