Thomas McNeely

   Thomas L. McNeely, 57, of Niles, unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in his home. Thom was born on February 22, 1969, in Niles, MI, one of three children of Don and Marian (Loebach) McNeely.

   Following high school in Galien, he served in the United States Army Reserve and Michigan National Guard as an Infantryman. He medically retired from the Cook Nuclear Plant in 2024, after 12 years of service and 24 years of service at Seventrees Corporation.

   Thom and his wife, Dawn, were married in October 2020 at an intimate ceremony held in their home.

   Thom enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing, hunting, and camping. When not outdoors, Thom liked watching Chicago Cubs baseball and Notre Dame football while eating peppers so hot that no one else would dare to try.

   Thom is survived by his wife of 5 years, Dawn; his parents Marian and Earl Lintz; his siblings, Todd (Kim) McNeely and Krisi (Jim) Duflo; his 7 children; Brittany (Brian) Frantz, Thomas (Jaylyn) McNeely, Sean McNeely, Ashley Cauffman, Nick (Danielle) Fortune, Jake Fortune, Emily Fortune, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

   Thom was preceded in death by his father, Don McNeely.

   A Ceremony of Life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, March 27th, at the American Legion in Buchanan, MI.
