Triphon Lema III, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on May 26, 1957, in Mishawaka, he was the beloved son of Triphon Lema Jr. and Barbara Ann (Geisler) Lema.
Triphon proudly served his country in the United States Navy from September of 1977 – September of 1981 and later dedicated 29 years of service to his community as a firefighter for the City of Mishawaka.
He is survived by his four children: Jennifer (Christopher) Kellebrew, Angela (Matthew) Hasbrook, Ashley Lema, and Triphon Lema IV, and his seven cherished grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his loving partner, Christine Humphreys.
Triphon was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Ann Draves, whose memory remained close to his heart.
He will be remembered for his commitment to service, his kind heart, and his love for Notre Dame Athletics.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 10:30AM – 12: 30 PM, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin, October 13, at 1:00 PM, In St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W 7th St, Mishawaka. A burial will take place after in Fairview Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made in Triphon’s honor to the Mishawaka Fire Department Survive Alive Program. The best way to do so is with a check written to the Fire Department , with the Survive Alive Program in the memo of the check .
