Vicki Lynn Lighty

     Vicki Lynn Lighty passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, at the age of 79.

     She was born in Valparaiso, Indiana on January 9, 1946, to her parents George and Helen Kriston.

     Vicki married Bruce Lighty on June 19, 1966. The couple just celebrated their 59th anniversary.

     Vicki was proceeded in death by her son Douglas Lighty and daughter-in-law Kristin Lighty. She is survived by a son, Todd (Kristin, deceased) and his children Brandon and Melissa, son Joel (Candice) and their children Andrew, Calvin and Oliver. She is also survived by her brother Chuck (Teresa) Kriston, brother-in-law Jim Lighty, plus many special cousins, nieces and nephews.

     Vicki loved taking care of children. She ran a small daycare for many years. She left her mark on many families and the lives of numerous children. She loved helping in the nursery at St. Mark Missionary Church with the MOPS program. Again, giving care and love to the little ones. She enjoyed her family and was so proud of the type of people her sons and grandchildren have become.

     A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM, in St. Mark Missionary Church, 55240 Bittersweet Rd, Mishawaka. Funeral service will immediately follow at 6:30 in the church.

     In lieu of flowers, the family asked that contributions be made to Reins of Life, 55200 Quince Rd, South Bend, in Vicki's memory.
