Virdeen Ingrid (Bryan) Near

Virdeen Ingrid Near, 66, of Mishawaka passed away in her home on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.  Virdeen was born in Neosho, MO on July 4, 1957, to Norman and Ingrid (Buchholz) Bryan.  On August 27, 1994, she married Edwin Near who survives.  Also surviving are her daughters, Crystal (Tim) VanBruaene and Jessica Speelman; grandchildren, Alex (Tanner) Grummel, Abigail VanBruaene, Alexa Davis, Walker Davis and Liam VanBruaene; and great grandchildren, Kambriaa, Emery and Jack.  She is preceded in death by a daughter, Angela Speelman. 

Virdeen was a woman with a light that shone around her.  She always had a smile on her face and a thoughtful heart.  She loved watching Jeopardy with her husband, Edwin, and going to sporting events for her grandkids.  Her health stopped her from doing all of those things she hoped to do but you would never see her suffering.  She was truly a fighter in life and will leave a legacy of love and memories for her family to cherish. 

The family will receive friends from 11 am – 1 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.  A funeral service will begin at 1 pm in the funeral home with Charlie Keller officiating.
