Virginia R. “Ginny” Hahn, 96, of Kelly Road, Mishawaka, IN., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 25, at her home.
She was born on September 16, 1928, in Mishawaka, as the daughter of the late, Edward and Rose (Steif) Ganser. She was also preceded in death a sister, Margaret Debroka (Ganser) and a son, Kent Weinberg.
She was previously married to Frederick Richard Weinberg, who died in April 1970.
In March 1972, she married Richard H. Hahn, who died in January 2004. She is survived by a son, Kraig (Monique) Weinberg of IL; daughter, Jean Ann (Nick) Jordan of WI, son, Lynn (Janet) Hahn of Mishawaka, daughter-in-law, Sue Weinberg of MI. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, Dr. Chris (Kara) Jordan, Mariselle Jordan, Tim (Shannon) Jordan, Stephanie Jordan, Brian (Colleen) Hahn, Lisa (Shane) Ray, Jeremy Weinberg, Sarah Weinberg, Emily (Dan) Koehler and Kane (Ellen) Weinberg; and 15 great-grandchildren; by a brother-in-law, Kevin Weinberg of South Bend and a sister, Ruth Catterlin of IN.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31 from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
Virginia was a 1946 graduate of Mishawaka High School, she worked as a Manager for Indiana Bell/AT&T for their Mishawaka and South Bend districts. She was proud to be the first female promoted to manager in her district. She retired from AT&T in 1984. Her passions in retirement were golfing, St. Joe Ladies Golf League, attending PGA events, traveling to spots in the United States and abroad, spending time with family, Notre Dame sporting events and has been known to take in a Pink Floyd Concert with her sister from time to time. She loved her faith, family and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
