William Stout Obituary

Mishawaka, IN-William Robert Stout, 89, passed away at home on Sunday, March 21, 2021.  William was born on June 5, 1931, in Cambridge, OH to the late Daniel D. and Wanda (Tolley) Stout.  On June 4, 1952, in Biloxi, MS, William married the former Margaret A. Compton.  William is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank (Lorraine) Stout; grandson, Charles W. Stout-Vanlue; and son-in-law, David “Lanny” Sterling.  Surviving William are his wife, Margaret; daughters, Lea Ann Sterling (Richard Currell) and Susan Kay Stout (Jeff Gonyou); grandchildren, Mariah Smith (Ru), Amelie Sterling (Tyler Wieserman), and Daniel Sterling; great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel Stout; and many nieces and nephews.

William proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  He worked at Dodge Manufacturing for 37 years until his retirement.  He is a life member of the VFW 360 and First United Methodist Church. 

Visitation will be 12 pm-2 pm, Friday, March 26th at First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. The funeral service will be at 2 pm in the church with Reverend Joyce Kuhn officiating.  William will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery in South Bend.
